I have owned my own business for 27 years, but I was in a MVA in 2000 and sustained TBI.
I have a lot of people ask about TBI so here is a bit of information about it. Problems or disorders that survivors of head injuries may experience are one or all of the following: physical problems, communication disabilities, cognitive problems. Cognitive disabilities that may exist include memory defects, concentration deficits, learning disabilities and the inability to make judgments, think quickly or plan ahead. Emotional or behavioral mood swings, depression, anxiety, agitation, and changes in one's usual personality. Overall, brain injuries may lead to a decline in the individuals functional status, as well as, a loss in productivity of the person who had the injury.
I have to say things are getting better and once I finally found out about TBI in 2005 "It took awhile for IHS to get it figured out" I could finally face it and deal with it, but it still effects me and I feel for those around me very long periods at a time....lol
