Kirk

I was born and raised in New York City's Greenwich Village. My Mother designed clothing for her shop on 10th street. Growing up in such an eclectic environment infused me with a great appreciation for the creative process, and I found there's almost nothing more satisfying than to bring an idea to life. Leather is a great medium, in that it's stylish, functional, durable... and kicks ass!!!
After attending the School of Visual Arts as a film major, I moved to Los Angeles where I ran the leather shop for Hand Prop Room, a major prop house, where premiere custom work is the standard - unique items, from a civil war era Grant saddle, to an exact replica of Will Rogers' silver inlaid show saddle, gun holsters, luggage, tooled directors chairs, etc are fabricated. Also in LA, I was associated with The Company, where I restored and created leather furniture.
In New York City, my craftwork has been featured at Leather Rose and Sara Smoilof Custom Jewelers. In East Hampton, NY at Robert Curtis Custom Leather, later East Coast Cowboy.
From traditional English styling to hard rocking biker... gimme some skin, an idea, and I'll make it happen!!!
