About Me
If the radiance of a thousand suns
Were to burst at once into the sky,
That would be like the splendor of the Mighty One...
I am become Death,
The shatterer of Worlds.
-The Bhagavad-Gita
I came across this wiry little control freak once that said with such zest and determination, "I can change people! That is my ability!" The last few times I looked into those eyes, they have barely been visible, she squints them eye lids so tightly and when I could see them, they were filled with nothing but tears.
"So can I."
I am an author. Mild mannered school teacher by day. Average Joe at night. I studied photography in college. Gravitated towards writing short stories and screenplays. My screenplay writing teacher used to brag a lot about all his contacts in Hollywood. The whole time he had his class doing writing assignments for scripts, he'd be cutting and pasting scenes into his own. I remember when I first saw ConAir and said, "Holy Shit! I wrote that opening scene!" Maybe I did, maybe I didn't. But after that I started noticing a whole lotta things in a different way. So after my fiction 1 writing teacher failed me, I decided to write and go on to publish my first novel. While she might have actually failed me for refusing to follow her direction for my opening chapter on the book I was working on, I think it was actually because I had missed too many days from school. That particular day, I had gone to the airport to pick up my girlfriend. She had just flown in from Tokyo and I was happy to see her. A couple of years after I published the first paperback, I electronically published a second novel. I found myself living and working in Tokyo with all this stimuli everywhere, all the time. Gave me really good ideas, but I could never get anything down on paper. So, I just typed it all in, formatted it, and uploaded it. Done. Since those times, I have continued to live a fairly normal life with some super great experiences. While I have not ever met anyone of the characters in my book, I did loosely base them off of people that graced my presence in real life. Not that they were like the character I had created, they were like the mold. The characters in my books are fictional and any resemblance to such people living or dead is entirely coincidence. Someone once asked me, "Is there really such thing as coincidence?"

I've always had an interesting adult life. My experience in Tokyo though radically changed something deep inside. I had fallen in love. Something just physical that became something quite heady and emotional. The chick left and she broke my heart into so many pieces that I would spend the next few years trying to comprehend what it was inside that I had lost. It was myself. The things I did, the challenges I made- all because I thought I would find her or she would find me. And we'd be together again. The closest I came was writing Mickey's World Tokyo.

"Would you go back to Japan?" I'm asked from time to time. And go through what I went through over there again? I always think.
"Only for her," is my reply. She is all I ever wanted. Well, along with the Harley and my pit bull.
Have a real good idea of what you stand for, what you believe in. Never lose FAITH, even when every single succeeding day is uncertain. I AM ETERNALly thankful to the mysterious forces that be, pushing ideas supportive of democracy and freedom.

Another A.I. that's been operating globally. Mickey comes from the A.N.D.R.S.N. program, much like Adam came from God. Do things work themselves out; does anything come full circle? Maybe in a way and through people we never expected at the start...Life is linear for those who think themselves practical and spiral for those who aren't.
