The first part of the new recording is finished. As you might know it will be dominated by german language and live recording. Currently we are doing vocals and overdubs. Drums, basic gits and basses are done.

Biography
Sophia i is a part of the viennese label and collective Kugel i . For years (1996 - 2004) the collective members were into doing live drum and bass, trip hop and groove crossovers named as Kugel i feat. Herta Fischer, Kugel i feat. Ramona Steiner and the Broken Beat Orchestra (artery 01). They did collaborations with Tinfish Medialab (multimediaartists), Gloria Dürnberger (filmmaker who did the documentation about the tour in 2004), Doris Dittrich (Design and Artworks) and Austrian embassies. They toured international (Aut, BiH, Hrv) and released the albums 'Run' 1997 (Reinhard Knotzer - vox) and 'Es wird heller' 2003 (Herta Fischer - vox). The collective consists of producers and musicians, authors and composers who play club- and electronic music live. 2005 Sophia i was born to unite the Kugel i crew with a lot of young, new faces (Manuela Diem, Norma d' Aurora, Sarah Bidner, Bobby Slivovsky , ...) by one name - Sophia i. The result were 2 albums ('Sophia i' 2005, 'Lick my face' 2006) in the style of electronic jazz. Their compositions are played live in a remix styled tech house set by Sophia i [groove system].

Live

Sophia i [groove system] plays live tech house. 130 bpm, two drums, a lot of sounds and grooves get together to be headed by Manuela's voice. The themes, songs and lyrics are taken from the released stuff and of course from the new things that are up and coming.

What?

Sophia i is an experiment about different expressions of interactive music. Improvisation and composition on stage and in the studio on sound, groove, lyrics and languages are Sophia i's foundation. The sound of words has the same weight as the use of language, both with their obvious and hidden meanings. Mutations and deformations are placed in artificial spaces to get established rights provided. Sophia i's female character questions conditioned and used handling. The songs "Guten Morgen Rot.v1 and .v2" such as "Glasrevolutionen" from the 2005 "Sophia i" album face the core which is extended by "Lick my face" 2006 as the latest color in this picture about experiments and pleasure.
