About Me
James Peter Lee is a composer, musician and producer, born in New York City. He has recorded and performed with artists including Vernon Reid, DJ Logic, Greg Tate’s Burnt Sugar, Butch Morris, Pawnshop, the Cucumbers, Freedy Johnston, Ernst Molden, Roman Scheidl's TaMaMu and others.
In October 2005 he was invited to collaborate with director Dieter Boyer and Gregory Fuller on the “Freedom Party†project at Forum Stadtpark in Graz. James contributed conceptually, as well as providing all music for the event, playing fretless guitar, saz and laptop improvisations and compositions. He has also worked producing and composing music for television and radio advertising, working for clients including American Express, Coca Cola, McDonald’s, Revlon, Mobil Oil, Cigna, Hershey’s, the Bermuda Dept. of Tourism, Virgin Mobile, Gatorade and others.
Mr. Lee lived in Vienna in 2006 and early 2007. In the time he was there he contributed music and sound design to the Tabledog short film “re-reflectedâ€and Michael Lebek's short film "not for a dime". He performed at the Klimt Villa and Radio Kulturhaus with Roman Scheidl’s Ta Ma Mu project, which combines dance, music and live action painting in performance. He also performed with the wonderful Ernst Molden.
Since returning to New York in the spring of 2007 James Peter Lee has been playing regularly with Greg Tate's Burnt Sugar and plotting his next solo project. Stay tuned...
