Band Members: it's not a regular band, on the track "Night" (recorded live at Stichting Intro in Maastricht) you hear Anne La Berge on flute, Xavier Verhelst on bass and myself on lap steel (and you also hear a computer.)
On "Stay" the situation is similar and recorded live at Roulette in New York, with J.D. Parran on sax and Peter Zummo on trombone. Both tracks are part of the Very Slow Disco Suite, now available from Canal Street Records (www.canalstreetrecords.org).
The other two tracks are excerpts from the double CD "Bending the Tonic". The first excerpt features Stephie Buettrich, voice; Anne La Berge, flute; Peter Zummo, trombone; Michael Weilacher, percussion; Xavier Verhelst, bass and Guy De Bievre, electric guitar and was recorded live during November Music in Gent in November 2004. The second excerpt features Jolei (Joyce Bowden), voice; Anne La Berge, flute; Peter Zummo, trombone; Mustafa Ahmed, percussion; Ernie Brooks, bass and Guy De Bievre, electric guitar and was recorded live during Warmer by the Stove in New York in February 2005.
Influences: Not enough space to list them all, but here's an attempt (not in any specific order): Miles Davis, John Cage, Franz Schubert, Hank Williams, Iannis Xenakis, Stan Kenton, Peter Zummo, Luc Ferrari, Duke Ellington, Charles Ives, Isaac Hayes, Maria Schneider, Nina Simone, Robert Johnson, James Blood Ulmer, Spike Jones, Morton Feldman, Cole Porter, Anne La Berge, Nile Rodgers, James Tenney, Gil Evans, Jerry Douglas, Anthony Braxton, Speedy West, Carl Stone, Prince, Jerry Hunt, Ludwig Van Beethoven, Dolly Parton, George Clinton, Glenn Gould, and all those I don't think of right away, not to mention writers, filmmakers, poets, visual artists, dancers, cooks.
