Influences: my friends, my voice teachers a.slezak and prof. hartmann-dressler, walter norris who improvised with me, joni mitchell on vinyl, beatles songbook that i learned to play guitar with, ella fitzgerald on venyl, , brigitte faßbaender (a mezzosoprano that i heard a lot when i studied classic singing), alvin lucier who gave me his record 'i am sitting in a room', john cage (especially his lecture on nothing), rene block who introduced me to contemporary art, tom waits,who i had the pleasure to assist once, georg buechner,a great writer from 17th century, robert wilson, who i worked with and who touched me immensely with his art, sarah vaughan, eva cassidy, kurt elling, cy twombly, rinde eckert, a soulmate of mine, the real book, john dowland, strauss' metamorphosen, gustav mahler, heraklit, johannes brahms, griegs pianoconcert in a-minor (my adolescent rescue from dispair), heinz von foerster, irish folkmusic (my weekly escape from home at that time), james joyce. recently i heard ben sidran, louka patenaude and frank martinez in madison. their musicianship and improvising brought me into heaven, which is NOW or the the center of the universe.
