High Voltage started out at a halls of residence bar in Manchester in Spring 2003. It has since hosted bands such as Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Arctic Monkeys, Mystery Jets, The Longcut, The Bravery, Nine Black Alps, Moving Units, The Beat Up, Forward Russia, Help She Can't Swim, Tom Vek (DJ), The Departure, The Long Blondes, Duels, Good Shoes, Performance, Dartz!, The Maccabees, Shout Out Louds, This Ain't Vegas, The Sunshine Underground, We Start Fires, This Et Al and many others.
We also produces a fanzine, which comes out every two months. And we have an record label called High Voltage Sounds , founded in Nov 2004, which has released 7" singles by The KBC, Former Bullies, Lisa Brown, Dead Disco, Snowfight in the City Centre and redcarsgofaster, a 10" compilation EP, and a 20 track CD featuring the best new bands in the North-West; all to great acclaim.
