Fucks and kisses are a pair of music lovers based in Manchester. The duo have a deep interest in electronic music although slightly different tastes. A common love for techno is fringed on one side by fucks’ love for house and on the other by Kisses’ darker more beat driven enthusiasms. This contrast brings a variation to their sets not often seen. Playing everything from party orientated house sets, through the top end techno sets and into the darker twists of an after-hours session.Having played at various venues around Manchester and the surrounding area, Fucks and Kisses recently embarked on a new venture and put on their own party along with a trio of like minded promoters. The party named “careless wispa†was the first of the “fandk presents…†series with the second instalment coming shortly. A huge success by anyone’s measure, the night saw 250+ party goers treated to a fine display of djing from Ian Blevins (of space, Ibiza fame), Fi Faple (signed to Berlin based label Happymechanism) and of course Fucks and Kisses. The next event, although still in the planning, looks set to be just as good. With some truly fantastic musicians booked the series continues to push the really good music as appose to the next flavour of the week. Fucks and kisses hope that the true music lovers recognise this and continue to show the support that’s been given so far.With a remix of The rejects- rejected receiving great reviews across the board Fucks and Kisses reworking and production, although in its early stages, is looking good and picking up speed. Undoubtedly much more to come from the pair in this area.With lots planned for 2008 Fucks and Kisses are still forging forward in the Manchester music scene. With their own parties, dj sets and some live gigs on the horizon let’s hope that they continue to provide the quality we’ve come to expect and keep their standards suitably high.
