Band Members: Behrouz Tavakol Born in 1974 in Teheran (Iran), he grew up with Persian music and started to play the Santour at 10 and he learned the traditional Persian style (Radif). He even owned a Santour workshop and made Santours all by himself! Behrouz has been living in Europe since 2001 and very much interested in linking different cultures and searching new musical forms of expression. His musical knowledge and performing was very appreciated by musicians of the University of Music and Perfomance Leipzig and so he was engaged in some projects with percussion and modern instruments. Besides founding and performing in Mahoott which gave concerts at different worl music festivals in Germany and Europe, he also acts as a percussionist for other ensembles like traditional west-african Drums, latino-american persussion (Congas), Flamenco (Cajon) and oriental Framedrums.
