About Me

Pasha Karami was born in Shiraz, an ancient and cultural city of Iran. His tremendous ability of feeling the rhythm convinced everybody about his talent. Therefore in 1993 he became the disciple Navid Afghah, the master of Tombak, who had created a new and modern of playing Tombak. Soon he took the leading places among Afghah’s students and started teaching lessons in several music schools of Shiraz. Pasha won the first prize of young Tombak players in festival of music in Shiraz, in 2002. Pasha worked with great musicians of Iran like Ahmad Pejman and Hamid Motebassem and famous internatinal musicians like Hosam Ramzy and Dolatmand khalov. His knowledge of western classical music and skills of Tar and Tambour instruments playing resulted in successful mixes of Tombak and different styles such as Iranian Traditional music, Flamenco, Indian and new age. Currently Pasha lives in the Netherlands where he is actively involved in the Iranian as well as multicultural music activities: he regularly performs with the Mezrab ensemble which represents the traditional Iranian music; Synergy the band, consisting of the professional of the various percussions; Beduin the band, where Jazz music and Tombak join for the outstanding mixture of sound. Pasha participated in different internatinal percussion festival in Iran, The Netherlands and Lithuania.
