About Me

the online workshop for
the new poetry group
based in louisville, ky... check us out:
TRAILER " WOMEN ARE HEROES"
THE BEST MOVIE EVER!
a small history of us us-people...
i am a one-man menagerie - half museum/half amusing...
nothing at all amazing... equal parts celestial and confusing...
my soul has the shakes/a ball of snakes in my spirit...
this is not a poem/quit laughin... ...this 'about me' is
not nearly so disingenuous as it seems/strenuous? perhaps...
there are naps in me. kinks and coils and soiled songs.
about me, i am semi-serious in the sunshine/sometimes,
but all about the knife-fight come midnight...
my mood is a myth-appropriation of funds... i steal sun,
swallow moon/spit monsoon/croon concrete/admit defeat/i tune
tomorrow for the children/borrow the blues/blessing blackness
africa burrowed in the marrow of my being... i be all-seeing
freeing faith from philosophy... this:
is not a poem... let me start over/u dont understand...
i am not cute/im justa big brute wanting brotherhood...
i am strange root/not wanting to be so fruitless...
not trying to be so ruthless in the way i love to love.
poetry is my bullshit-pulpit, but this
is not a poem/not a prophecy/not necessarily propaganda...
this is hardly heresay/is just my dirty dissertation on
the daylight within me...
this isnt about you... its ABOUT ME!
mystic/mythic/and afrocentric... ...my name is 'ron'
butchu can call me 'dirt'. or 'brothadirt'.
a wide girthed/earth-eater supreme!
