About Me

THE FOUR-ONE-ONEBorn in Birmingham, Alabama, and currently living in Southern California, Bridgette Alyce Wynn is a poet, author, and composer of songs that range from Gospel to contemporary jazz. Her debut title, "Come, Joy! Songs from the soft of night", was released in June, 2005 and has enjoyed wonderful reviews on Amazon.com, BarnesandNoble.com, African American Literary Book Club, Rawsistaz.com, MidWest Book Review, and Makasha Dorsey Publications. Ms. Wynn was featured "writer of the month" in May of 2005 on Timbooktu.com. On January 14, 2008, "Come, Joy!" received the Reviewers' Choice Award for Best Work of Poetry in 2007, on Blackrefer.com.Known online as "Alyce" (pronounced a-leece), Ms. Wynn's poetry can be found on IHOPoets (International House of Poets), Mr. Africa's Poetry Lounge, Timbooktu and Destee. Her work was also published in "X-Magazine" 2004(UK), "The Aurora Review"2005, "SpinDrifter Literary Magazine"2004, and anthologies "Songs of Hope"2006, "The Heart of Our Community" 2006.In 1999, Bridgette Alyce was baptized into the fold of spoken word artistry when she joined "Roni's Baaackstreet Poetry" posse, hosted by Poet Roni Walter, and performed on stage at the Comedy Store in Hollywood, California. Ms. Wynn is currently performing poetry from her debut title and her second book, "This October", at venues across Southern California."This October" is a collection of short stories and poems inspired by the need for the preservation of the family, by the restoration of the "sisterhood". Ms. Wynn is an educator and human services provider, and through real life observations, she has witnessed the decline in trust, respect and love among the caregivers of our culture, which has taken its toll on the way we interact with our men and our children. With humor, wit and sensitivity, Ms. Wynn speaks to the issues that plague our communities, an outgrowth of what has gone wrong in our homes. It is a candid portrayal of us at our worst and our best. "This October" is a call for us to return to our first love, and heal our generations, by the grace of God. Release date to be announced. This profile was edited with MiSpaceTools.comThis is my first work, of which I am extremely proud. My daughter, Ashley J., is the cover artist!!
