About Me

d.u.s.t was originally formed by Dave and a close friend in Iceland in 2000. The band released it’s self-titled debut in february 2002, after which the album found it’s way into the hands of Multimediary in Los Angeles, a management deal was eventually signed with Mulimediary. The boys of d.u.s.t were invited to showcase at the SXSW festival in Austin Texas 2003, and they discovered themselves on the shores of West Coast America. After touring America, which included the SXSW showcase, the band called it quits in March 2003. Despite having their debut album remixed by Nickelback producer Dale Penner for U.S. release. The main reason for the split were tensions that arose druing the stress of touring and pressure the band was under at the time. Dave Dunn then returned to Iceland and formed Envy of Nona. E.o.n. played their first gig with Evergrey (SWE) in September 2003 in Iceland (With drummer Bassi from the Benny Crespo's Gang), and eventually released a self-produced LP entitled Two Years Birth, after having dumped the previous 12 track outing that Dave had been working on since d.u.s.t for a change of style, T.y.b. saw the light of day in february 2007 in Iceland to little fanfair at the time until the band was picked up by Tom Kat Records. However they called it quits after their last live show at the Iceland Airwaves festival in late 2007, creative differences cited as the reason for the break-up. A decision was made to pick back up where d.u.s.t had left off, but with a name change and new members (with the backing of Tom kat Records), d.u.s.t was "a generally pleasing musical experience, and I had a great time performing in America" says Dust vocalist Dave Dunn. Joined with guitarist Patrik which replaced Dave Dunn as guitarist in the final months of E.o.n. to better the band’s live performance, freeing Dave from the guitar and pedal board. What you get today is a rather intense mix of metal, grunge and stoner rock. Fused by Dave’s powerful yet soulful vocals, guitarists Patrik’s intriquette riffing and guitar hero-esque solos, bassist Rutur’s thunderous groovy low-end growl and drummer Gudjon’s unique style of groove.....
The band is currently in the studio working on their debut album under the name Dust, keep your eyes peeled for the cd, epk, promo shots and music video..
