Richard Miles and Dave Tribe have worked together since 1985 and have pursued pretty much the same creative path ever since. Age, guile
and improving technology has led to the stuff you can hear here (in an edited form).
Both work primarily with electric stringed instruments and then explore and corrupt the sounds at their disposal. The aim is for gigantic washes, trickles, sparks. Seeking utopia in sound. Tools, fingers, electronic
devices, effects, loops and anything else to hand are used. Nothing in the room is safe.
In addition to working together as Tomas Hiltz both have had many varied adventures in the worlds of music over the years and continue to
play with astonishing people whenever the chance arises. Currently Richard plays stick and other instruments with Under Mother Bungalow which can be found at
www.armchair-astronaut.com. He also produces site specific sound art pieces, and paints. Dave is central to the No No Nos, to be found at www.myspace.com/nononostheband, Carnival Collective
www.myspace.com/carnivalcollective and writes and produces his own material
www.myspace.com/davetribe.
Tomas Hiltz is from Hamburg in Germany and records eclectic electronica. Rumours that he is in fact Richard’s invisible friend have so far
proved to be entirely unfounded.
