Angelo T. Robinson

Angelo T. Robinson was born in Austell, GA, on December 31st, 1973. He began to show signs of artistic ability at an early age. He spent hours from the ages of 3-6 tracing and drawing pictures from magazines and books. During his grade school years, Angelo designed t-shirts and posters for his teachers and classmates. He entered and won local and regional art contest. Angelo continued to develop his abilities during high school by entering contests, and accepting local commissions. He became the president of his schools National Art Honor Society his senior year. Angelo joined the US Navy in 1992, where he served until his honorable discharge in 2002. Travels to Greece, France, Turkey, Italy, Spain, Israel, Puerto Rico, Cuba, and other ports greatly influenced his creative process. It was during these visits that he made the decision to focus on creating rather than a particular style or medium. He completed murals, commissioned paintings, and many other designs for his shipmates and various commands during his time in the Navy. In 2003, Angelo moved to North Carolina. He became an Ambassador for Alamance Community College in 2004, and served for 3 years. Angelo is active in the community and at his local church. He continues to pursue artistic growth, while exploring creative expressions of the world around him. He resides in Mebane, NC, with his wife, four beautiful daughters, and one handsome son. ******************************************************** Artist Statement: I am inspired by emotion, beauty, and passion. I seek to incorporate the world we live in with the one that we all create in our mind. I choose not to limit my creative process to one style or one medium. I believe that even though each piece that I create may have some similarities, that each piece should have character and a life of its own. I am captivated by color, mental, physical, and spiritual juxtapositions. Whether I work in oils, acrylics, or mixed media, I attempt to unify my work with bold, vibrant colors. Art is not stationary or stagnant. It should cause an emotional, physical, or spiritual reaction to what you are experiencing.
