Globus Ensemble

About Me

Globus Ensemble is an international, intercultural contemporary music ensemble founded by Christiaan de Jong in 2003 in Barcelona, operating also from the Netherlands since 2005. It specialises in combining different musical traditions, we had, have and will have on our planet. The ensemble can perform traditions in a authenique way, but on the contrary also chooses to aproach the same traditions in an original new very own way.
The ensemble can seem in one moment some strange kind of heavy metal band and in the next a flamenco group or oriental folklore, it may seem in one moment a authenique baroque ensemble and the next an ensemble specialised in avantgarde classical or jazz music.
In any case we look for profound ways to connect various traditions, which we know on earth and stimulate the intercultural (musical) communication.

Thank you for visiting and listening to the tracks. Musicians, who are interested in collaborating or festivals, who like to have more (booking) information: please vistit the website for contact information. There are also possibilties for exchange and pedagogical projects with children and adults from all ages and cultures.
