About Me


It’s been already a decade since the Amstel Quartet blew its first notes. Since then, the four young and enthusiastic saxophonists who make up the ensemble have built an international reputation in the world of chamber music, and beyond. The versatility and talent have earned the Amstel Quartet many prizes and awards.
Prizes/awards/grants:
- First prize at International Chamber Music Competition-Illzach, France.
- Chamber Music in Yellow Springs Competition -Ohio, USA.
- Runner up Gaudeamus Interpreter’s PrizeUitmarkt Audience Award
- Kersjes van de Groenekan Awards.
- Dutch Almere Prize for Chamber Music - Netherlands.
- A grant from the Dutch Ministry of Culture for the period 2009-2012
- Pizzicato Awards for CD's: Excellentia for "Amstel Tracks", Supersonic "Baltica".
