"The Jason Reeves Band" is now featured on AwesomeRadio.net
....................... Jason Adam Reeves was born and raised in Austin, Indiana which was literally a one stoplight town. Great community but very limited with regards to music aspirations. He learned about music, espiecially the guitar, at a very early age. At the age of five Jason was helping Raymond Colwell, his grandfather, set up recording equipment while his grandfather tinkered with recordings. His grandfather was a very big inspiration. Raymond passed away when Jason was eleven years old and for the most part he stayed away from music for the next few years until he stumbled upon a documentary about the late, great bluesman "Robert Johnson". After this he knew he had to have a guitar and get back into music. He got his first guitar that following christmas. He took lessons from Jeff Guernsey for a few months who later gave up teaching and toured with Steve Warner and Vince Gill. For the first few years after the brief lessons Jason practically locked himself away in his bedroom and practiced relentlessly, sometimes 4 hours a day. He taught himself everything on the guitar concerning blues, rock, soul, and folk music but mostly focusing on blues. One of his biggest inspirations was Stevie Ray Vaughan.
In his early twenties Jason bounced around from cover band to cover band until he and one of his longtime friends started writing songs and formed the original band that eventually became known as "Farewell To Kings". This band had plenty of success including, several songs played on various Indiana and Kentucky radio stations, two number one requested songs on the 100.5 fox rocks local hour, opening up for bands such as "Tantric" and "End Of Me", several shows at the biggest club in Louisville, KY(Phoenix Hill Tavern), and a very loyal fan base.
After a few years "Farewell To Kings" had ran its course and eventually came to an end. With Jason's mother backing him he then decided to make a life changing decision and move to Nashville, TN. Since then he has teamed up with a very talented group of musicians which recently finished recording their first demo at Hipp Studios in Hendersonville, TN and you're listening to it now !! Band members are Isaac Rives - bass guitar, Lauren Brown - keys/vocals, Robert Garrett - drums, and Laura McCauley - vocals. Currently Jason is rehearsing with his band preparing to play shows in late spring/early summer 2008. Check back for updates !!!!!
