SCOTLAND'S BEST KEPT SECRET

About Me

Hello Everyone and thanks for visiting!
I always wanted to be a singer.
However due to a rather unexpected twist of fate, I found myself working in radio instead. As an aspiring teenage singer, I was interviewed on my local station about my thoughts on Country Music. Unknown to me, the Programme Director was listening in and thought I had a great speaking voice. He offered me a Presenters job.
For the next 12 years I hosted my own radio shows throughout the UK and Europe, including 3 years as Programme Director with Island Sound Radio in Malta. My Breakfast Show was heard by over a million tourists every year and I was affectionately dubbed “The English speaking voice of the Nation.” One of my greatest memories was interviewing the late Hollywood Legend Charlton Heston.
In 1998 I finally hung up my headphones and made my way to London where I signed up with an Entertainment Agency. My desire to be a singer was stronger than ever. My first Professional singing job was a 6-month cruise around the Caribbean (It was a tough job! but someone had to do it!!). I honed my skills abroad and many a song-writing idea was inspired from my travels. By the time I came home in 2005 I had sung in over 42 countries and had a song for almost every new experience! I had also met and married my husband & song-writing partner, Steve Thiebault.
My latest CD “Cross The Border” features many of our original songs, plus my No1 single “Ace Of Spades” (the reworking of Motorhead’s signature tune!!)
Nowadays my main efforts are concentrated on singing and song writing. However, I recently dusted off my old headphones after being asked to join the Presentation team, to help launch Smooth Radio Scotland.
On 17th May 2008 I joined CMR Nashville (Europe’s No1 24/7 Country Music Station.) I host the “Country Café” every Saturday between 10am-midday and I'm delighted to say that after it's first week on air, the show's listening figures doubled. It's now being repeated at various times throughout the week. For more info please visit: www.cmrnashville.net
I now find myself in the fortunate position of being a full time singer songwriter, whilst being able to play other Independent Artists who deserve to be heard worldwide.

“…Our interview and your United States debut went phenomenally well. The feedback was nothing less than impressive. Since our interview your songs have been requested like crazy. Last night I played 3 of your songs BY REQUEST. Now that’s noteworthy! One might expect that of a George Jones song or a Dolly Parton song. But a newcomer? That’s EXTRAORDINARY”
Bruce Hodges (Blueridge Country 98fm USA)
“It’s the original music that Jackie wrote that really makes this album stand out. She’s All Cried Out is such a strong Country song, it would do Reba proud!”
Country Music and Dance Magazine (Scotland)
“Jackie’s outstanding vocal is as crystal clear as a mountain spring, distinctive and memorable, and will soon become recognisable at first play. This is one to be proud of, and it could establish Jackie as one of our top Country female vocalists and songwriters.”
Gerry Ford (BBC Journalist & Broadcaster)
“Cross The Border (the album) is a gem but it’s Jackie’s version of Motorhead’s Ace Of Spades that is creating a real buzz. If you’ve never heard the original, it will stand up on it’s own as a terrific piece of Country music…full respect has been paid to the song and it really does work brilliantly…it is by far my favourite track of the year.”
Stuart Cameron, Up Country Magazine (UK)
“Once you hear Motorhead’s Ace Of Spades done in the Storrar style, you will always want it that way.”
John Murray (The Fife Free Press, Scotland
“The title song (“Cross The Border”), full of insight and challenge, is an absolute gem, worthy of hit status. A newcomer to me, Jackie comes as destined to be one of the successful troopers of genre. Here’s a fine document, saluting her dexterity at songwriting as well as vocalizing.”
Paul Davis (Broadcaster & Journalist)
“…It’s a thoroughly entertaining production, the songs are well-crafted, Jackie’s singing is spot on and the backing instrumentation is as professional as anything coming from Music City USA.”
Jim Marshall, British Country Music Association (BCMA)
