"Oh, snap!"

About Me

I have been doing comedy since 2002. I started when I moved to Charlotte, NC. At the time I was doing a lot of freelance writing for different publications and enjoyed being creative. My girlfriend, (now my wife), took me to a sketch comedy theater called The Perch because she thought it would be right up my alley. I thought it was great and immediately found out when I could get on board as a writer. Since the performers were the writers, I auditioned and barely made it aboard. Over my 2 years there, I learned from some great comedians, actors, and writers. It was a great place to learn and I still thing it was one of the best "comedy rooms" I've ever seen. After becoming one of the more frequently contributing writers week in and out, I was loving sketch comedy. I began trying to do a few minutes of stand up before every show to warm up the crowd and it was definitely a whole new ball game. There was no script, costumes, or supporting actors to lean on. I tried to get a little better every time.My first real stand up show outside of the Perch was in a town called York, SC. The local Charlotte Sports Talk station was producing a comedy show at a historic theater called The Sylvia Theater there. They were fans of The Perch and I had told them I had plenty of Stand Up experience. They hired me to feature in front of a packed house and I did 15 minutes of Stand up followed by a sketch I wrote. I'm not sure how, but I'm pretty sure I killed.I started doing as much stand up as possible after that. I eventually moved back to my home town of Miami, where I no longer had the comfort of my home club. I started signing up for Open Mic's and Contests at the local Improv's. I feel lucky to be a part of a great scene in South Florida right now with a lot of great personalities learning from each other at some great local clubs. So far, I've found great support everywhere I've lived, and I look forward to continuing to learn and to get better every time I perform.

GLADIATOR ADE

It seems like there are fewer and fewer good original ideas these days. Every other movie is a remake or a sequel to a movie that wasn't good the first time they tried it. How is it going to be good ...
