About Me

"To the dolphin alone, nature has given that which the best philosophers seek: Friendship for no advantage. Though it has no need of help from any man, it is a genial friend to all and has helped mankind." ~ Plutarch

Dear Readers...
I am a novelist currently working on my newest historical/paranormal/adventure (best way to describe my writings) novel. Most of my stories weave their way through the ancient and modern worlds.
I have been writing stories since I was old enough to hold a pen. Before that I made up tales to tell everyone. I like to think writing is in my genes since my mother (RIP 1940 - 1978) was a poetess and my grandfather (RIP 1901 - 1984), an oral storyteller. According to my palmist I have 3 writer's stars on my palm. I guess I was born to write LOL.
I have also written a plethora of short stories (some finished and some in progress) in various genres such as speculative, romance, children's, and YA fiction etc.
Most of my professional writing has been in the new age field for Toronto publications which I have since left to concentrate on my novels. My reviews of local events have appeared in Cauldron and Quill (now defunct) and some of my poetry can be found in Celebrations (2005 and 2006). In addition, I've written articles on various aspects of healing, religion and environmentalism.
The two most influential people with regards to my writing are author Lynda Simmons and Professor Michael Monty (RIP 1941 - 2005). Both inspire me in many ways: Lynda constantly provides great tips when I have writers block and teaches me live my dream while Michael always provided support and encouragement when I doubted myself and my talent.
Fav. quote: "Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined." ~ Henry David Thoreau
I'm also a member of the Society for the Study of Egyptian Antiquities (SSEA)
I graduated from The New York Institute of Photography and had a practice as a professional photographer for a very short period of time before realizing that the I did not enjoy the business side of photography which left little room for creativity.
To Whom It May Concern...
This profile is mainly for networking with other writers, book lovers, editors, publishers, those who love the printed word in all its forms, new online friends and of course a little music here and there.
My Guidelines...
I have no problems adding you if I think you're interesting and/or we have things in common (I will read your profile). If you have nothing in your profile odds have it I'll deny your friend request. Also I do not add minors unless I know you personally. Do not waste my time by emailing me asking questions that are blatantly answered in my profile.
Please note...your email will be ignored if you:
a) use words such as "u, r, ur, kewl, sux, rawk, womyn" or phrases such as "Yo Yo waz up? Datz slammin' or substituting numbers for words such as "2, 4" etc. There is no excuse for the misuse of the English language and it's very irritating to read.
b) initially only say "Hi" or "How you doin'?" or "How's the weather" or "Hey you're cute" in the subject line and nothing else. I won't waste my time with such things!
Those who don't like my rules...well too bad! That being said, there are always exceptions to every rule of course!
