I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

Please see the "Work" folder (in the "Pictures" section) for samples of my work. I am particularly interested in networking with other female artists. My specialty is portraiture, and I'm always on the lookout for new subject/models, male and female (model trades are no problem, either).
You can find me in a used bookstore, at the comic book shop, in a diner, anywhere with my friends, stuck at work, at the club for goth/industrial night, taking a long "urban nature" walk by myself, or in my room. There you might catch me reading, stocking up on more books, hunting for fun clothes, drawing, painting, documenting, drinking tea, reading, eating, reading while I eat, listening to music, dancing, laughing, enjoying a movie or watching television, doing various crafty things and, quite possibly, reading.
I left New York City for Philadelphia in 1996, and I've been back in New York since September 2004 for academic purposes. I have no real love for what this city has become, and I miss Philadelphia very much....as of now, however, I have no idea as to where I'll wind up after graduation (aka May 2008), just that I'm following my heart. :)
Please note that while I may be "single", I am definitely not "looking" for dating relationships. No offense -- I'd just rather focus on my work!

My Interests

books, drawing, illustration, cartooning, painting, reading, speculative fiction, science fiction, genetics and biotechnology, mystery, comics, graphic novels, cats, diners, movies, coldwave/darkwave music, synthpop, electroclash, industrial dance, ebm, coffee, tea, thrift shops, nightlife, hearty food, refined sugar

I'd like to meet:

In no particular order...

    Old friends and schoolmates
    Lovers of life
    Readers and book lovers
    Critical thinkers
People with strong characters who stand up for what they believe in, and speak out against wrongs
    Sex workers
Visual/performance artists of quality who are committed to their work and are willing to sacrifice for it (as opposed to those attracted to a glamorously fictional lifestyle)
    Feminists (sex-positive, especially)
More people of color who can be "alternative" without denying their ethnicity
Socialists and other advocates against exploitative systems
Fighters of racism, sexism, homophobia and classism
    Eccentrics and crazy cat people
    Queer people and other subversives
People who ask questions and take nothing for granted
