About Me

How does anybody fill their day? I think the truth is you fill your day most of the time by being in the washing machine of your own mind thinking "What's this? When does it stop? Am I enjoying it? I don't know. Oh, it's time to go to sleep. I can't, I'm worried." And then you wake up and smear jam on your family's faces and your own.

-Dylan Moran

My Interests

Number one would be by far producing & directing films (or a good television series) one day.

I'd like to meet:

I'm waiting for my future self to show up and tell me everything I'm doing wrong.

Oh well, so much for that.

Music:

There are so many... I used to have them all listed but it was getting ridiculously long. A few favorites are Depeche Mode, Fad Gadget, Talking Heads, The The, Roxy Music, T Rex, A Certain Ratio, The Durutti Column, David Bowie, Joy Division, New Order, Franz Ferdinand, Tear Garden, Ultravox, Cabaret Voltaire, Public Image Ltd, most post-punk acts and a bit of glam when I'm in the right mood.

Movies:

Pre-Hays Code Hollywood movies from the '20s and '30's, The Quiet Earth, Now, Voyager, The Day After, Threads, When The Wind Blows, Quills, The Great Dictator, David and Lisa, Heat, Meet The Applegates, Sid and Nancy, The Second Coming, The Day the Earth Stood Still, Dr. Strangelove, Seven, Spanking the Monkey, Napoleon Dynamite, Galaxy Quest, Marathon Man, Ed Wood, Strange Days, Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, American Psycho, Office Space, Clerks, Suspiria, Dellamorte Dellamore (Cemetery Man), Dawn of the Dead (both versions), Day of the Dead, The Thing, The Fog (original version), Life of Brian, Brain Candy, Say Anything, Grosse Pointe Blank, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, The Time Machine (original), Invasion of the Body Snatchers (original), Man Bites Dog, Photographing Faries, Evil Dead, Evil Dead 2, Army of Darkness

Television:

Mostly stuff that's been cancelled, but a few current shows... Life on Mars, The IT Crowd, Doctor Who, Garth Marenghi's Darkplace (thanks Matt!), Blake's 7, Red Dwarf, Battlestar Galactica (both versions), Sliders (the first 2 seasons), Extras, Real Time, Mr. Show, Spaced, Black Books, The Mighty Boosh, Trigger Happy TV, The Prisoner, The Outer Limits, The Daily Show, The Colbert Report, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Modern Marvels, Nova, Connections, The Hitchhikers' Guide BBC mini-series, MST3K, Survivors (not Survivor, I mean the 70's British series about a plague ending the world). But I really don't watch a lot of TV anymore. If I do it's usually the Travel or History channels.

Books:

Stardust, Neverwhere, Burning Chrome, Titus Andronicus, Hitchhikers' Guide to the Galaxy (the whole "trilogy"), Flowers for Algernon, The Stranger, The Trial, The Left Hand of Darkness, Infinity Welcomes Careful Drivers, Better Than Life, Nightshade, The Dark Path, The Darwin Awards, Kraftwerk: Man, Machine, and Music

Heroes:

Wish me luck!
