Still Married

We are STILL MARRIED

About Me

"Fresh tunes with North State roots -- Shasta County country."Cottonwood singer-songwriter Erin Friedman has been playing with words, music and the truth for more than twenty years, hanging out on the corner where traditional country meets modern folk. Erin teams with her husband, bass player and vocalist, Craig Friedman, to form the duo Still Married. Their engaging tunes focus on the colorful landscape and characters of Shasta County, love, life and the messy things that make it all interesting. After twenty years of marriage, the couple shares an intuitive understanding, evident in their vocal blends, gentle rhythms and heartfelt harmonies.Still Married uses acoustic guitar, electric and acoustic bass, expressive vocals and a dose of humor to weave their song stories. Whether they are extolling the virtues of enduring love or lamenting the demise of an unfortunate possum, their poetic lyrics and austere arrangements revive the tradition of "songwriter as storyteller." Both of their all-original CDs: A Kiss Beneath the Sundial Bridge and The Shadow of Shasta are available in Redding at Wrap-N-Pack and on the Internet at www.cdbaby.com.Still Married has performed their original tunes at Redding’s Old City Hall, The Shasta District Fair, Little Filly’s, Vintner’s Cellar and other venues.
