About Me

Who really writes these things honestly? Wouldn't it be better to have them written by your friends?
I'm loving the NYC burlesque scene these days, so if you are a dancer and want someone in the audience who knows how to cheer and scream at all the right times, add me. :)
I want to surround myself with interesting people! I always have... artists, writers, musicians, thinkers, students... nerds, metal heads, goth chicks, etc. should all apply! You want to argue politics? You want to argue about the stuff they are leaving out of ROME? Want to catch a horror movie?
A true New Yorker. Born and raised in Lower Manhattan. I'm back in my hometown again, but I made the horrible mistake of moving to Los Angeles in August of 03, and that was the single greatest mistake of my life! NYC really is my muse and my friend...
I adore history, want people around me to have a sense of humor, and I have a made passion for reading. Anything from historical works like MEMOIRS by Karl Donitz to an Anne Perry mystery to something fantastical like Thomas Wheeler's ARCANUM to something far more serious like THE LONG HAUL by Amanda Stern. Jasper Fforde is one of my new passions.
I love dogs, and oddly I have a passion for protecting Great White Sharks. Give me intelligent, charming company, an entertaining Broadway play, and good conversation, and I am happy. Mother always said never talk about politics or religion on the first date, but I always do...
And why can't I put Agnostic Jew on my religious prefs below? Someone whose father lost his faith in the camps, but taught his son to have a sense of the cultural history and tradition.

My Interests

History, bashing bush, friends, playing with my dog, a good book, foreplay, talking politics, Germany, NYC, European History, writing, live music, art, Scuba, burlesque shows, the occasional board game (my inner geek emerges), Great White Sharks and learning the German language.

I'd like to meet:

In fantasy land, I'd like to meet Julius Caesar, Winston Churchill, or anyone who lived through WWII.... but they are nearly all dead. Right now, I think I'd like to meet Nigella Lawson. ;)
And if we are talking about women when you say "Describe who you want to meet", I seek a woman who has a sense of humor, a creative spark, has a smile that can warm the soul, eyes that show she has something going on inside her brain, a passion for something other than her looks, and who feels comfortable at home cooking with me, at the opening of a play, or out on the town. She must enjoy the burlesque scene. Will she read me an article from the NYTimes that has caught her interest, or listen to me when I speak about some interesting thing I learned? Will she tolerate the good and the bad as well as she expects me to tolerate her good and bad? Someone who has a zest for life and thinks the idea of going to Europe is more appealing than going to Vegas. Someone who doesn't think a cowboy hat is sexy, because they aren't.
