Grew up with a lot of classic rock and jazz - they're my favorites. Rock groups such as The Beatles, Yes, Led Zep, Deep Purple, Rush, The Doors...too many to list. Jazz - Davis, Coltrane, Clifford Brown, Parker...it's all great! Heavy Metal fan in high school too - Maiden and Manowar are my two favorites. I still follow Manowar today! I like a lot of different kinds of music. I miss the early days of MTV in the 80's when pop was good. Like my dad, I'm a big Sinatra fan - have over 50 albums collected from thrift shops. Sinatra and Jobim with "Change Partners" is a great album for anyone.
I love movies - watch them all the time at home. Generally, if I'm not familiar with the movie before watching on cable, I'll give any movie a shot that gets 2 1/2 stars or more and the story is appealing. I recently joined Netflix and like it so far.
The news, sports (mainly football and baseball), and some shows. I like "Antiques Roadshow" a lot and I followed the last few seasons of "American Idol". Some of the classics I like include "The Honeymooners", "The Twilight Zone", "Sanford and Son", and "The Jeffersons", to mention a few. On HBO, I watched "Six Feet Under", "Curb Your Enthusiasm", "The Sopranos", and "Inside the NFL" regularly - all of which I enjoyed.
Not really a book reader. I like coffee table type books.
Of course, my parents. A few trumpet idols include Miles Davis, Clifford Brown, and Dizzy Gillespie.
