Undisputed Messiah of West Coast Country

About Me

Did you ever wonder what was in that long lonely stretch of road along the I-15 between The Inland Empire and Las Vegas besides tumbleweeds, meth-labs, and the occasional dark-eyed hitchhiker? What could exist out here in this desolate place that God had either honestly forgotten or wisely turned his back on centuries ago? Somehow, out there amongst the dust devils in the sixth hour of the sixth day in the sixth month a man stepped out of the dust.------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------- His sideways grin showed he was too crazy to survive and too drunk to care. Stepping over the carcasses of Tweakers and Overzealous Christians he found his way to Los Angeles with a new kind of Country Music. Though the road was long and the journey threatening, every step brought renewed vigor to this desert rat. Every step brought him closer to delivering the new commandments of West Coast County Music to the people.---------------------- And lo, he walked into the darkest remaining honky-tonk in the city of Angels and blessed the people with his song. And with one strum of his guitar and one line of truth from his parched lips the radio playing pop country in the corner burst into flames. With a tap of his Vans sneaker the long defunct dusty Wurlitzer sprung to life again and began moaning Merle Haggard. He looked around the bar and saw that his work was good. With a tip of his hat every glass in the tavern filled with Evan Williams Single Barrel Bourbon. And he was on his way into the darkness again. Yea, the people sipped upon their whiskey, and listened with renewed vigor to the wonderment that West Coast Country Music brought unto them. And they rejoiced for they had been returned to the fold.------------------------------------------------------- ----------- As he walked away an old man approached him...-Who is this stranger that brings music back to us and revives this honky-tonk to life? And why does he abandon us once again?------------------------------------------------------ -------- With a smile he placed his hand on the shoulder of the trembling man and said...-Fear not my friend for you are with me now. I must be on my way but keep this day in your heart forever and you will walk with me in spirit as I travel from bar to bar spreading the gospel of West Coast Country music. Remember what you have seen here and warn the non-believers that the day of rapture is upon them.-------------------------------------------------- With that, the stranger who would come to be known as the Messiah of West Coast Country turned and walked away into the night...______See the gospel spread....
