About Me

Southeast of the neon lights of Los Angeles is where the band West of Texas meets to write their own brand of Country Honky-tonk. This isnâ€™t the watered down pop songs you'll find on todayâ€™s top 40 radio shows, these boys take their influences from the heroes of classic Country. Itâ€™s the sound you get when a Central California Native with a penchant for the shuffles of the Texas honky tonks meets up with a Native Texan with a love of the Bakersfield sound and start making music together. Itâ€™s the sound of a thousand Texas Dancehalls, the sound of the truck drivinâ€™ radio shows and Nashville tunes that came crackling over the AM band 30 years ago, the sound of the Bakersfield twang. Youâ€™ll find them playing every honk tonk, bar, VFW Hall and backyard hoedown around Southern California. A few notes into one of the bands live show and youâ€™ll be toe tapping, two stepping or swinging along with their honky tonk shuffles.
