Don't let the California origin fool you. These boys know how to deliver that old time country sound that hasn't been on the scene for far too long. Sometimes you gotta take a look back in the rear view to realize things are heading in the wrong direction. And that's just what these good ol' boys have done.
This strong cast of honky tonkers have recently assembled through their mutual love for old time classic country music. "Boss Hogg" was the brainchild of founding members Jeremy Long (lead guitar), and Doug Johnson (lead vocals and acoustic guitar). By dumb luck they quickly found fiddle wiz Mike Stave and they knew they would be unstoppable with a strong rhythm section to back them up. Dev Torres on bass is the core of an unshakable rhythm section for the Hogg.
Boss Hogg is now embarking on their mission to restore country music to the west and beyond. They have found "their sound" by capitalizing on their clean 3-part harmonies and flashy instrumental breaks. Doug Johnson croons out the classics the way you want to hear them as if "contemporary country" has all just been a bad nightmare. Thank you Nashville, but we'll be taking it from here. The guys from Boss Hogg have done their homework and will be delivering you the old classics the way they should be done.
