"The Murphys". A family band from Co.Kerry, Ireland., consisting of Pat, (Dad) and Cindy,Candy and Katie (Daughters). Pat plays keyboards and accordion as well as lead and backing vocals. Cindy sings lead (a unique voice with a quickly growing number of dedicated fans). Candy, a songwriter with a respectable number of good songs recorded by notables like Mary Duff,Paddy O Brien, Cindy Murphy etc., and more to follow shortly. She also plays a good lead guitar, sings lead and backing vocals and yodels. Katie plays fiddle and mandolin and also sings lead and backing vocals. Together "The Murphys" make great music what with three part harmonies followed by scintillating instrumentals and then Cindy with her very own interpretation of Patsy Cline, the show has not gone unnoticed with "The Murphys" appearing on stage with Moe Bandy, Gene Watson etc., They have had several television appearances and this year alone have performed at The UK Country Awards, The Minehead Festival and at The Great Scottish Festival in Ayr. "The Murphys" latest single called "Working Mom" (playing here on this site right now) was written by the band for one of their TV appearances and got such a reaction that they decided to record it as a single."Working Mom" reached No.3 in the British and Irish Country Charts, No.10 in The Hotdisc Top 40 and No7 in The Independent Top 20.They are also featured in " The Best of British and Irish Country 2007" .This is a compliation CD of the most successful Country singles in Britain and Ireland in 2007.The Murphys have also been chosen by the prestgious CMA to represent Ireland at The Global Artists Party 2008.This event will be held on The Stage on Broadway in Nashville,on June 2nd
