If you do not base your "faith" on the bible, then what do you base your beliefs on? I was Christian, until I started questioning the foundation of it all. I know the bible has some good points, morally. But those are also human nature. I do not believe in the God of the bible, yet I am not going to go out and rape women and children. I am not going to murder anyone. I am not going to steal. Not because the bible says it is wrong, but because that is what I feel is wrong. I do not need a God to tell me these things. Look around you, all the pain and suffering. The children dying in Africa. The fundamentalists in Irac and Iran loosing their lifes in the name of a God. The poverty in the US. The Greed. The hate. All of it. Would the presence of an Omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent God allow this to happen? If a God created all life and everything in the universe, would he not then have the power to stop all the suffering??? That is why I do not believe. And I do not know why so many people, who all have the ability to think, still believe. Which is why I want to know why you, follow a God. I want to know what you believe, and why. What has happened in your life to make you believe. Is it something that happened in your past where you needed to have faith in something? Or is it just that you were raised in a religious house hold?
