Bands are finding alternative ways of attaining success independently, rejecting the more traditional roots to notoriety and fame. For this reason alone more and more power is back in the hands of the bands themselves. Our Mission
Surface unsigned magazine is a FREE guide for all unsigned musicians. Through relevant information and advice, the Surface Unsigned magazine delivers a frank, honest and direct view of the U.K’s unsigned industry through interviews, advice, reviews and relevance. It is our aim to give voice to the many unsigned musicians, unnoticed & unheard, helping them acquire identity and place within the U.K’s transforming music industry. Content
Surface Unsigned Magazine is working in association with Kerrang Radio, the BBC, unsigned music promoters, top industry sponsors and major music names to deliver content geared towards the unsigned market. The magazine features industry related tips, columns and interviews. It also contain unsigned live music reviews including full coverage of the Surface Unsigned Festival. Where can I get the magazine?
The magazine is a free publication distributed as follows:
• Annually to all rehearsal and recording complexes in the UK (Oct of every year).
• Music Live, the biggest music-making exhibtion in the UK (7-9 Nov 2008).
• At all events of the Surface Unsigned Festival (Feb – Sept every year, see www.surfaceunsigned.co.uk for details).
• Local music shops, universities, schools/colleges, other music
related businesses and bars/pubs/cafes/music venues in areas
surrounding the Surface Unsigned Festival (continuously).
The Future
Currently most free publications have only small sections dedicated to unsigned artists. Surface unsigned Magazine is the first free magazine dedicated solely to unsigned bands and musicians making our exponential growth inevitable.
