Five years ago, Zenyth played their first gig at the tender ages of 16 for a 60th birthday party in their home town of Cardiff.
This summer, the band will be billed alongside Australian Pink Floyd, Ozric Tentacles, Heaven 17, Ben's Brother and other major acts at the moonfest festival in Wiltshire and Scouting for Girls and other major acts at the Cardiff University Summer Ball.
Zenyth are also releasing their second EP 'Time Wasted' from which, Mr. Nobody & First Kiss, Last Kiss will be released as singles this July & August.
The band members, Paul, Julian, Rich, Chris and Adam have their own unique, creative style and personality that combines to make the music that captures their distinctive and fresh sound.
Prior to the recording of time Wasted, Zenyth had been nominated for a Vodafone Live music Award as 'Best Unsigned Act' in 2006. They were also selected as one of the top 4 University Acts in the UK by XFM and appeared on Transmission with TMobile on Channel4 & Avenue11 on digital TV.
Zenyth have played throughout the UK building up an increasing fan base having played with the likes of The Answer, Big Linda, Sons of Albion, Scouting for Girls, Toby Jepson and Louis XIV.
2008 has been billed as a promosing year for the band are receiving increased media attention and are in high demand from numerous live music venues and festival organisers from Europe and the U.S.
Cardiff's answer to Muse, Zenyth don't do things by halves. Their chant-along First Kiss, Last Kiss has uncompromising drums, massive slabs of guitar and an instantly lethal vocal hook, all of which combine in an astonishing demonstration of raw power. Zenyth have successfully distilled the essence of their thrilling live shows.
Eddie Temple Morris - Zenyth are sure to be the next big rock band from South Wales, they have a great sound with driving drums & bass beats, they are awesome live, thats why i have chosen them as one of the top University Bands in the UK.
These guys rock, lead singer and lead guitarist tear songs apart, this young band could be on their way to super stardom. Fantastic live act and you our listeners have nominated them for a Vodafone Live Music Award.
Mr. Nobody - This Tracks ready for the world, its chart topping, catchy and clever. I could hear the track being played around the world on radios. Wish you guys had an album out i'd buy it with the quickness! well done.
First Kiss, Last Kiss - I'm liking this, this is quality. The energy, music, style, vocals, theme, everything is really cool, if you are in a pop/rock/indie band, this is the way to start out. The whole approach is poppy, rocky, cock sure and makes you want to be part of the band. I already have the "first kiss last kiss addiction" running through my head, Great stuff.
Change Your Ways - This is a very original sounding song and the lead vocals has a powerful voice that goes tremendously with the raw rock sound. The guitar riffs and solos are also very catchy and ideal to listen to on a boring journey in the car! The band are very tight as a whole especially when it comes to the more complicated instrumental parts of the song.
Signs - Lyrics are sung lazily and drawlingly. I love this once the force is added into the equation. A strong piece of music. the lazy sound goes well with the contrasting heavier sections. This is timeless, the sort of music that will still hold true 30 years on.
Never Grow Up - I was just about to finish for the day after having a disappointing reviewing session then threw this onto the CD player, what a great up beat tune, with good clear lyrics that sound good, it had a very good catchy chorus which i think is important to sell record, that's what sticks in the consumers mind, I loved the middle bit which gave a change of direction. The track overall was well produced.
Hotter than a jacket potato on bonfire night and receiving A+++ reviews from the toughest of grumpy old ba$tard$ (sorry critics) out there. Zenyth are the band to get behind & watch out for this year. Tighter than a nun and slicker than Castrol GTX, this is your chance to catch Zenyth early and be a part of this incredibly awesome bunch of talented lads success.
