Pure Life - Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish

About Me

Mellow, but assertive. Can be counted on to fix or satisfy the situation. Spontaneous, got to be at the right place @ the right time. You get no where without risk. Mind over matter, after a while almost nothing hurts, so just try to kEEp it liGhT

Ideals are like stars: you will not succeed in touching them with your hands, but like the seafaring man on the desert of waters, you choose them as your guides, and following them you reach your destiny.
-- Carl Schulz

Thanks to SDSU I am an uber computer techie with an appreciation for Art and Jazz history and am someone who will always have room for a good all night party.

In 2007 I will undoubtedly go back to work as a senior computer programmer and begin to work my ass off again, but the last three years have been just grand because some investments went very well...so I took some time for myself to travel, for my family & friends, some rockus partying, and, of course, my adiction to myspace =)

Well, some things that annoy me are those damn rims that keep spinning once the vehicle stops (now thats Ghettoriffic!) and those 4 door honda accords with the wing the size a small carport, LMFAO! but I do get a huge laugh from the little 4 bangers that have a huge Megaphone shaped muffler that kind of sounds like a gas powered leaf blower!

I have supported many environmental causes over the years, and am very interested in clean oceans, pristine forests, allowing room for wildlife, alternative energies like solar panels, and bio diesel engines.

"Mainly, I am just looking for friends and some good times, though I think there should be some reason for it. I have mostly working relationships, and friends whom share common interests. That creates a different camaraderie than just going out to a bar, which has no real end apart from having a good time until you say goodnight, and so on.", Mick Jagger. I'm learning too follow my heart and trust my instincts with every success. I enjoy dancing and dinners with friends, but stray away from the let's get drunk get togethers--no contempt, just been there done that, and broke out. I'm always ready!

My Interests

These days I TRY to keep the the body pretty well cleansed so I can do some offroad dirt bike riding, surfing, and play volleyball every once in while. I'd rather play sports, and work on the house and garden than push weights at the gym.

I really enjoy traveling and last year spent a month in Costa Rica, and then six weeks in South America (Peru, Argentina, Brazil) and found many cool spots.

Check out this crazy video during a river expedition when all the fish in the river start jumping out of the water, and then they really start flying all around! AMAZING!

..

I am also a bit of a motorhead and work on my motocross bike, toy hauler travel trailer, and am very close to having my Chevy Tahoe built up into a full on expedition 4x4.

Adventurers dig design of my plush Tahoe!

I own my own business, and make money doing all sorts of stuff like web pages, real estate, business analysis, import/export, loan sharking ;)

I have a lot of experience creating web pages and feature films so networking with producers, promoters, companies and models who might need web pages is a priority. Making a living as a consultant or contractor would be great for me if you can put up with my sarcastic wit and somewhat raunchy sence of humor. I have a long, long history of getting things done on time and better than you thought possible.

I do like to travel as well and am interested joining weekend trippers, or even longer adventures around the county and down into Central and South America. Volleyball, surfing and motocross are some of my favorite sports and I got da Weekend Warrior toy hauler for trips up and down the coast and out the desert. I am pretty adventurous. Might say I'm looking for dancers, singers, riders, trippers and, wooaah, wait a minute, triplets...

Music:

Greenday

Foo Fighters

Rock Works

Listening to X and Stevie Ray Vaughan while I write. Way too many names to write down. I swear I have every song I ever liked on my iPod Nano. Lately I got some great 70s/80s bands ofF the Internet: The Jam, Faces, Specials and English Beat are a few. Kinda feeling like I'm stuck in the past at the moment. Back in the day I got to several Elvis Costello and Talking Heads (like friggin 20 each) and Rolling Stones concerts which I still like. Saw awsome Janes Addiction and X jams at SDSU.

Led Zeppelin, Eric Clapton, Pink Flyod, Greenday, U2 and Sheryl Crow might be playing at any time with favorite Dylan (Stuck in the Middle with You!), Bowie (Heros!, Man Who Sold the World!), Counting Crows, Tom Petty and The Clash in the mixes.

When the blood pressure needs to stay down will put together something like Jackson Browne, Steve Miller, Warren Zevon, David Lindley, Eddie Brickel, Beatles, Cat Stevens, Steely Dan, Jewel, Ernie Cruz Jr. and da Regae. Easy listening might be Fleetwood Mac, Van Morrison, Sade, Joe Jackson, Bruce Hornsby, Tony Bennet, Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald and Jazz. I haven't yet really gotten to deep into the country or the hip hop but like the favorites. Da hair bands, techno, trancing and good time clubbin. Oh Ya!

Movies:

I have worked making feature films most of the time since I graduated, and you know "Everything you ever wanted to know you can learn in the movies" (and when there's no work it's time to have fun). My favorite line is from Liam Neeson, "You don't get it by licking the rocks" in the movie "Michael Collins" about establishment of the Irish Free State. A close second is Samual L. Jackson's "Well, why didn't you say so Negro" from "Pulp Fiction" when he gets the good news.

The Wind and The Lion

Jeremiah Johnson

Cool Hand Luke

Some of my favorite movies are mystery, dramas that involve the environment and the computer industry like The Pelican Brief, Disclosure (insightful visual effects), and those Steven Seagal type movies like On Deadly Ground (Helps an Alaskan Native Indian tribe fight against an evil oil company) and Fire Down Below (Playing a hard-hitting EPA agent investigating a mine in Kentucky), but I normally end up at comedies such as Napoleon Dynamite, Dumb and Dumber, Tommy Boy, Turner and Hooch (slobber chops!). Some others I liked were The Big Lebowski, Fargo, 50 First Dates, One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest, A Beautiful Mind, Dances with Wolves, Braveheart, Gladiator, Goodfellas, Saving Private Ryan, Seven, Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Contact, Terminator II, The 5th Element to name only a few.

I helped artists do visual effects on fifteen feature films including Starship Troppers, Contact, Hollowman and most recently Shark Tale. I have worked at Sony, Dreamworks SKG and Tippett Studios and am currently working full-time for a major competitor of YouTube which allows you create your own video portals

Television:

Tivo all the way!!! (I friggin hate commercials), Meet the Press 8AM Sunday people (skip the local news, ya, thanks for those words you farking mentalist), Interesting things I notice on Sundance (Iconclast), IFC, TBS, Henry's Film Corner , etc.; Racing of Formula One, Rally cars, Motocross, the Purple People Eaters (e.g., loud Minnesota Vikings football fans at the bar) and all Playoffs. The Daily and Tonight Shows, Conan O'Brien, Who Wants to be a Millionaire (damb thats easy), South Park, Simpsons, and all kinds of other stuff like National Geographgic, the Science, Discovery, Travel and History channels when something interesting is on. Don't really get into sitcomms or reality TV though lately I have set the Tivo to record Studio60, 30Rock and Men in Trees. And some of the lovely ladies I've met, who I just know still think about me ... =)

Books:

Most recent Savage Run by C.J. Box, a terrific book about a Wyoming game warden and a colorful environmental activist, which includes a motive for murder as unique as any in modern fiction. Some favorites, among others, "Caught inside - a surfer's year on the california coast" by Daniel Duane who is THE surfers poet laureate, the James Clavell trilogy Tai-Pan, Nobel House and Shogun, Lonesome Dove by Larry McMurtry, The Firm by John Grisham, The World According to Garp by John Irving amongst several others. Technical books by O'Reily & Associates and Eric Meyer. Emerson, Thoreau, Hawthorne, and Melville who shaped the conscience of our nation and the Transcendentalist movement. One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel Garca Marquez and other great Magical Realism works derived from the Latin American culture. The Fourfold vision of William Blake who knew that the world of imagination was the true world, while that of industrial revolution was certainly false.
Finish each day and be done with it.
You have done what you could; some blunders and absurdities have crept in; forget them as soon as you can.
Tomorrow is a new day; you shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.
