Mockers at the TV
When some journalist asked Ringo Starr (drummer of a famous Liverpool band) if he was a Mod or a Rocker, the answer came fast: he was a Mocker. Back in 1965, some young uruguayan college band called Los Encadenados decided to change their name and started to write original songs: the legend was born, Los Mockers, one of the greatest 60s south american garage bands. They soon moved to Buenos Aires, where Los Shakers were causing a sensation, and signed to the Odeon label, where they released their classic (and best) material: the single "I wanna go/My baby" and their first LP "Los Mockers". A couple of years later Los Mockers disbanded after some covers singles and a second LP. Polo Pereira joined argentinean band Los Walkers and released their best record: "Walking up con Los Walkers" (1968) and Esteban Hirschfield joined Los Delfines ("Estamos seguros"- 1970) and later moved to Spain.
