Adra Karim

Born and raised in Jakarta in 1981. Began his classical piano lesson at the age of 6 and at 18 he started jazz piano and taking lesson from Mr. Arya. At 22, he enrolled at Institut Musik Daya, also by Tjut Nyak Deviana Daudsjah for Preparatory Jazz Study and also studied with Aksan Sjuman and numbers of pianist. 2005, he earned his Law Bachelor Degree majoring in Administrative Public Law and worked in a German Technical Assistance for Indonesian Government in Support for Good Governance project as a consultant in forming The Indonesian Administrative Procedure Act. At the same time he expand his musical career as a Pianist, Keyboard player, Arranger, Composer in different styles, from Jazz to Heavy Metal. Besides piano, he is always in love with the "Big Sound" of the Hammond Organ which almost nobody plays it in Indonesia. So in March 2006 he decided to study Jazz Hammond Organ in ArtEZ Conservatory in Enschede, The Netherlands with the direction of John Hondorp. From September 2007 until now he continues his study in Prins Claus Conservatory, Groningen, The Netherlands under the direction of Jasper Soffers (NL) and David Berkman (US) for Hammond Organ and Piano, and also lessons and lots of influences from other teachers such: Steve Altenberg, Alex Sipiagin, Joris Teepe, Michael Moore, Ralph Peterson, Elena Malinova, Anastasia Goldberg, Freddie Bryant, Don Braden, Mark Gross, Kurt Weiss, and Dena DeRose.
