BIOGRAPHY:
Jonas Wilms is one of the new faces in the west european jazz scene.
He studied at the renowned ArtEZ conservatory and continues making the Master of Music on the Messiaen Acedemy, both located in Enschede, The Netherlands.
Yet Jonas already performed with many big names: He backed Peter Beets, Linley Marthe (ex-Joe Zawinul Syndikate), Mark Nightingale (Robbie Williams, Spice Girls), Nippy Noya, Jan van Duikeren, Ruud Ouwehand, Rob Horsting, Dian Pratiwi, Judy Niemack and many more.
His rock steady and technically elaborated drumming always incorporates the spirit of jazz, as well as the energy of rock and hip hop. His great versatility can be measured by the number of genres he already has played: Classical music, dixieland, swing, soul, hip hop, funk, top 40 pop, emo, new metal, fusion and modern jazz have been on Jonas.. playlist through the past 14 years.
Jonas lives in Dortmund, West Germany.
