PROTASIS was founded in 1994 aiming towards creating a new trend in discography which was beginning to show signs of exhaustion. The company stands by its artists, not only by publishing their music, but also by assisting their promotion in the media and their live performances. Our primary concern is to first establish a friendly relationship with our artists and then evolve it into a sound professional relationship. We have tried to avoid the occasional fashionable productions and have turned to artists whose work might seem to be less commercial but is actually more substantial.
As a result, artists such as "Vassiliki Papageorgiou" who is a member of the group VOSPOROS, "Giorgos Tzortzis", "Morfo Tsaireli", "Babis Tsertos", "Manolis Karantinis", "Panagiotis Plastiras", "Panagiotis Margaris", "Giorgos Roilos", "Marios Strofalis", "Giorgos Zikoyiannis", "Manolis Galiatsos", and groups such as "Pallyria", "ANEMOS", "Take the money and run", "Stihima", "Graviton", "Tangos a Quatro", "Ektos eaftou" etc., have published their work through PROTASIS.
We have also paid special attention to the political song which had been left out of discography for the last three decades and have thus created documentary collections on "Che Guevarra", "the Red Army", "the Italian political song", "the European resistance" etc. We have also published the collections "Aroma Polis", "Aroma Smirnis", 'Mousiki tou Dromou'.
Moreover PROTASIS has also imported productions by well known companies such as FORREST HILL RECORDS, AMIATA, IRMA and others from Italy such as M10 ORIGINS, NIGHT AND DAY, FREELANCE and France and has introduced to the Greek audience artists such as "Cecilia", "Huun Huur Tu" and others.
Our company is also very active in the sector of live performances and therefore, although we are a relatively small independent company, the Organizing Committee of the Athens 2004 Olympic Games assigned the cultural events in Heraklion Crete as well as the live performance of "Aziza Mustafa Zadeh" in Patras to us.
