A mystical legends from the Balkan
NEW ALBUM OUT NOW!!!
"From a musical point of view, there is no other band like them in Bulgaria"
Toma Sprostranov - Bulgarian National Radio (Bulgaria)
"They are a talented group of musicians and we have really enjoyed listening to the material here at Real World Records."
Peter Baker - Project Coordinator – Real World Records (UK)
"The Art-Formation offer an original mix of Bulgarian folk with Celtic, New Age, and jazz leanings. Atmospheric, brooding and pretty - like a soundtrack to a remake of 'Blood and Roses’."
Nick Dedina - Listen.com music specialist (USA)
"Very good structural synthesis of contemporary and medieval music, described as modern 'world music."
Helen Kim - "Korea Herald" - (South Korea)
The most interesting modern Balkan music I ever heard.
Pavel Komarov - Moskovskii Komsomolec - (Russia)
The Lot Lorien music group is a Bulgarian professional world-fusion/modern-folk-baroque band that is rapidly gaining popularity worldwide.
The band came into existence in 1997 and has been continually developing a sound that has no equivalent in the world. The creators of the band, Kiril Georgiev and Zlatomir Valchev, were inspired by J.R. Tolkien’s books and thus came the name of the group. Lot Lorien’s compositions, both original and interpretations of some traditional songs, combine elements from Bulgarian, Balkan and world folklore. By presenting traditional music in a contemporary format the band makes it more accessible to people from all around the world. The impressiveness of Lot Lorien’s sound is further enhanced by the use of standard and non-standard instrumentation, such as electro-acoustic guitar and bass, violin, female vocal, drums, percussion, glockenspiel, tapan, djembe, darbouka and others.
The band is a member of IOV (a UNESCO- affiliated International Folk Arts Organization) since 2003.
