About Me

Jacob & the Jackals was formed in 2003 and has since that worked their steady way up to the top of the Swedish blues-scene by playing hundreds of gigs, everything from small bars right up to Swedens greatest bluesfestivals, such as Amal’s Bluesfest, Monsteras Bluesfestival, Gothenburg Bluesparty, Norrtalje Bluesfest, Falkenberg Jazzfest, Flashboda Bluesfest, Lysekils bluesfrossa, Helsingborg Jazzfestival etc. The trio have played about every musicbar, bluessociety and joint in the south of Sweden, they also have appeared in national radio and toured Scandinavia.. Explosive, intimate and charismatic liveshows is the band’s trademark!

"I’m thinking that Jacob & The Jackals are the Best European Blues Band on the scene today.." -Real Blues Magazine

"Well, that’s an out and out lie! Unless every atlas in the world is wrong, and Sweden has somehow managed to relocate itself several thousand miles south and west of it’s current location. It’s album number three from the Jackals, following on their "Workin’ Class" album in 2003 and their eponymous second CD in 2005, and it’s an absolute treat!" -Stuart A Hamilton, Blues Matters!

"Swedish trio’s 3rd CD brings together a mix of Southern Soul and Acoustic Delta Blues with an authentic feel. Guest musicans add the right support and feel for their songs in tribute to the music of the Deep South in a convincing manner. This group has only been around since 2003, but playing lots of clubs and festivals since then, they are a rising star in Sweden’s blues scene.." -Jerry Hall, Pacific Blues

"I don’t often, if ever, give a 6-Bottle review to European bands but Jacob & The Jackals sure sound like they’ve been on the Bayou for decades. 6 Bottles of Hadacol for a Real Treat from Sweden by way of Crowley, Louisiana. It’ll put pizzazz in your hip shake and lead-in-your-pencil.." -Andy Grigg, Real Blues Magazine
