About Me

Tess and the Chiefs
Tess and the Chiefs began playing together as a band in 2006 and are a combination of Tess Gaerthe and the Rhythm Chiefs. Tess is well known in Holland - she won the Junior Song Festival in 2005 with her own number "Stupid" and has since consistently topped the Jetix Kids Top 20 charts with a number of hit singles. The Rhythm Chiefs - 'the Youngest Blues band in Holland" began at the ages of 11 and 12, and since then (2003) have played widely at festivals, bars and clubs. Dusty Ciggaar (17) is the reigning holder of the Sena award for "Best young Guitarist" in the Netherlands - ALL age categores - which he won at the age of 14. When Dusty won the Sena Awards, he was invited on to the Kids Top 20 TV programme and the song he chose to play was 'Stupid'. He found the song so good and the audience so enthusiastic that he got in touch with Tess after the show. The band and Tess and her twin brother Joel (who plays keyboards) became friends and started performing some numbers together. They have played at a number of venues already and they play an assortment of jazz, funk and fun numbers.
