Hello there. I, Sian (Sha- say aaahh-nn) have been playing guitar on and off since I was 14 and have been writing poetry since I was 7. I started in me bedroom playin along to angsty rocky stuff. Started venturing out to open mic nights in 2003ish and gained a lot of experience and confidence in performing from those days. Have played in a number of venues, mostly in Cork to date, but soon all over Ireland, then the UK, then THE WORLD!!! :) I have just finished two years studying music at CSN in Cork and have written lots and lots of heartfelt, original songs with a 5 track debut EP on the way. Im quite shy(although it may not look that way when Im dancing like a nutter!) and am more dorky than cool.Im a super mega-big child at heart and feel that underneath everything we all share the same basic wants and needs and so there should be no need to make anybody feel inferior for any reason. I like to go out dancing to various gigs. WIGGLE, INTINN, Rev Sound (reggae),Super Extra Bonus Party etc..My first word was in Spanish and it was "BAILE!" which means "Dance!" and according to the elder folk I was quite the flamenco dancer as a toddler.Somethings never change :) Im interested in starting my own hardcore dance band for fun, festivals and travel so if your interested drop me a message. Im gunna cause havock onstage!! I listen to everything and anything and my influences are too many to list. I have a special preference for female solo artists (probly coz I'm one) such as Fiona Apple, SADE, Portishead, Bjork, PJ Harvey, Tracy Chapman, Stephonie Dosen, Wallis Bird, Lisa Hannigan etc. My songs are born out of worrying amounts of over analysing and day dreaming. I'm disgustingly romantic and sensitive and should probably invest in a lobotomy. I cant spell and have trouble with my concentration, flitting from one thing to the next to deter boredom.
