Shannon Lee

Singer/Songwriter/Musician "Kiss 'n Tell" debut CD

About Me

". . .There are no rough edges here: the production is smooth, the playing is tight, the mix is well balanced and the voice – of one Shannon Lee - is silky, suggestive and sultry. For some reason, she reminds me of the country artist Loretta Lynn, maybe in part due to her physical appearance, and – yes – perhaps a little bit of Amanda Marshall, whom Lee lists as a major influence. This much is certain: her voice is strong and expressive – easily equal to the task set by her composition.

~ Cam Bastedo - Gods of Music

"Lee sings about finding and losing love, resisting and giving in to temptation in a voice like raw silk - warm and smooth, throaty without becoming raspy."

Langley Times

"Shannon Lee is a very talented lady. . . she has what I like to call "The New York" sound."

Mark Collier MGM Records

"Shannon Lee is a Winnipeg-bred, Langley, BC based singer/songwriter, who makes her recording debut with this 13 song album or original songs. Shannon Lee is a versatile lady – a medical doctor by day, a published story writer, she plays piano, guitar, writes her own songs and has a pretty impressive voice. Her musical talents are showcased to their fullest on Kiss 'n Tell."

Larry Delaney, Country Music News

Shannon Lee is a former "prairie girl" from Manitoba who now resides in Vancouver, Canada. Her debut CD "Kiss 'n Tell" was released in 2003 and has been getting the songwriter noticed.

Growing up in Winnipeg, Shannon Lee honed her skills as a musician by studying classical piano and guitar as well as playing the alto saxophone in the school concert and stage bands. Her love of drama motivated her to train at the Manitoba Theatre Workshop. Later, Shannon could be seen in various plays and musical theatre productions including on Rainbow Stage. As for the music scene, Shannon and her bands were a regular feature on the circuit at Winnipeg clubs.

Shannon Lee is equally comfortable sitting at a grand piano singing jazz and blues or fronting a rock 'n roll band. Her versatility as a multi-instrumentalist, singer, dancer and actor has led to a varied and interesting career as a performer.

For the past several years, Shannon has been performing in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia with her trio. Popular places to catch Shannon Lee and her original act are Beecher Street Cafe in White Rock, The Gourmet Gallery in Abbotsford or Del Pollo Restaurant in Langley.

The Shannon Lee Trio with guest vocalist Raina Morgan (Shannon's 15 year old daughter), will be playing the Envision Coffee House Concert Series in Abbotsford during the spring and fall of 2008
Shannon Lee is currently working on her next CD with guitarist Colin Rankin. The two have paired up to write songs with an entirely different flavour. The new album will be entitled "Pot of Gold". A sampling of the new album can be heard here on MYSPACE - just check out "Still Crazy"!
