Sculptured Wounds first emerged from Gardena, CA in 1999.
Subsequently through the years, they have had several changes in their line up in order to attain an inimitable and prevailing sound that would revolutionize their music to what it is today. With musical influences from bands like Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Sepultura, Opeth, Cryptopsy, and other such bands, this 5-piece metal band which consists of drummer Gabriel Lopez, rhythm and lead guitarists Yonatan Cruz and Manuel Urgiles, bassist Juan Ramirez, and vocalist and lyricist Ivan Lopez, have created an exuberant blend of extreme and progressive music with their ultimate goal of creating music that will have a universal approach into the life and soul of their audience.
This perfect arrangement of talented musicians constantly experiment with diverse styles of music. Being an open-minded band, Sculptured Wounds never fuses its musical inclinations and creativity to only traditional standards of the metal genre; but rather they create a strong musical stamina as well as reverberating and melodic tunes that captivate an array of audiences through their themes of love, abhorrence, obscurity, and ardor.
They have played numerous backyard shows as well as popular venues, some of which include The House of Blues, The Knitting Factory, Chain Reaction, and El Rey Theater, playing alongside major label bands such as Creamatorium and Misery Index. Because of their dedication, perseverance, and originality as a band, they have earned respect and recognition throughout the Greater Los Angeles area as well as its adjacent cities. With the band’s recognition and a constant increasing fan base, they continued to pursue their goals as a band.
Together this brilliant band creates an eclectic and unique sound, while delivering a powerful performance at each show; with the main objective of conveying their innovative musical creations to audiences around the world so they can feel what it is to have Sculptured Wounds.
