The members of Endemy have been together since August of 2004 originating around Hawthorne, California; an area known by the locals as, "The South Bay". One of the goals of Endemy was to create a heavy melodic metal sound not tailored to the likes of the area where the scene is predominantly punk. The band readily pursues to push their music with influences such as In Flames, Machine Head, and The Deftones. Mike Sarkisyan of SpineShank (Roadrunner Records) has quoted, “Endemy is an extremely hard working band that is a breath of fresh air in the metal scene of today.â€
Some of the more notable early shows in Endemy's career have been opening for acts such as Diecast, Depswa, and Death By Stereo. Entertaining the pit enthused crowd for DevilDriver was a graceful task once their music filled the walls inside The Whisky A-Go-Go. The band is always ready to take what the crowd displays and silence the critics who judge them often too early. No matter if the venue is large or small, backyards to parking lots, Endemy will play fiercely to ones and thousands.
They have just completed an EP demo with Mike Sarkisyan, Tom Decker (SpineShank/Roadrunner Records), and Jeff Hannan (YMA Studios). The band has established a friendship with the three and will continue to work together. The song 'Dream Curse' was included in a compilation CD from Quickstar Productions called, “Downtown Metal Vol. 2â€. Two more songs (‘Betrayed Amongst the Twelve’ and ‘Abstract Ending’) will be included in another Quickstar compilation due out in the summer of 2008; all three tracks are/will be readily available for digital downloading. The band's music has also been played throughout various internet radio stations.
Endemy is a definitive group of eclectic minds clashing to create an original sound. Hard heavy hitting driven riffs coupled with intricate patterns of double bass and cymbal crashing. Blissful baselines balance out the soulful singing screams. A deeply tuned 5 piece melodic metal band that does not fall along the lines of a trend. Endemy has an infectious possessive energy that will truly cause an endemic over the land. Endemy has found their style creating a genre of music that is heavy, aggressive, and melodic.
