Metal Mayham

This stoy was written by Mike Romo based on his first hand accounts at metal mayham:It was hot as hell out in the Desert on a full sunlit saturday morning. The Metal Mayhem festival was in full swing. And most people were barely coming down from their psychadelic mushroom trip from the night before. Hundreds of people had gathered here to party and listen to music. But now that the horrible heat had come, we needed to find ways to keep cool and entertained. At least til the nights festivities could begin anew. So naturally we all decided to get completely shitfaced drunk. And it worked like a charm. It was here that we realized offroading would be a great way to pass the time and get air conditioned all at once. Luckily we were camping on about five miles of dry lake bed. But even more luckily, young Mr. Powell had decided that he would bring along his offroading truck and ATV for just that reason. The ATV and truck were being passed around like cheap 2 dollar whores at a senate convention. But these whores had had enough and secretly plotted revenge. As Brett and I sat back eating some delicious hamburgers courtesy of camp mom shanna, we felt that certain chill in the air. Now this could have just been the ice that Nicky Joe had so cleverly insterted into our pants. But we both felt it was something more. Something much more......sinister. Brett noticed first that no dust was coming up from the lake bed. NO DUST.....means no truck moving. Quickly we leapt into lil Adrian's truck and flew out to the rescue. From a distance you could already see that the truck was totaled and on it's side. We arrived just in time to see lil stevil and danny emerging from the tattered truck like two frightened gophers. After checking them both over to ensure they were okay we got to work flipping the truck back upright and latching it up to be towed back to camp. The trucks attempted murders failed and all were okay. The ATV only managed to lightly damage most folks but the truck paid dearly for it's attempt. With the death of the truck all had a sigh of relief. Well, all except Brett. He was out a vehicle now. Some say if you sit silently and listen some nights, you can still hear the sqeal of tires in that godforsaken desert. Which begs the question, was it just the metal mayhem festival or the beggining of something more?
