"Mind blowing... '4 am' is a classic, one of the nicest songs i have heard in the past decade."(Craig Sharpe-Weir, guitarist of "Icon A.D")
"An interesting and catchy melody, and a brilliant use of altered chords" (Mick Smith, BBC Radio Nottingham, talking about "Dragging My Feet")
"Think Damien Rice, but from Bournemouth and based in Derby"(Park Hall Live Press Release)
Simon Andrews is an acoustic singer/songwriter based in Derby.Origionally from Bournemouth, this mild mannered 24 year old has been gigging his unique brand of "Acoutica" for the past 4 years, in and around the midlands and is somewhat of a household name on the Derby scene. He is a graduate of the Academy of Contemporary music , where he homed his musical talent.
His music has been compared to that of Damien Rice, John Mayer, and even James Taylor. With heart renching lyrics and the raw emotion of Simon's voice, joined with his solid and intricate guitar playing, Simon's songs stand out in what has become a very crowded genre of music.
"More than just a singer/songwriter, Simon Andrews is a musically gifted and lyrically accomplished performer who can captivate an audience withing seconds of playing"(Lee Howes, University of Derby Dusted Magazine)
His debut album, "Far From Home", was released in early 2006 to overwhelming applause. With a collection of heart breaking songs looking at everything from losing a loved one to life as a student, "Far From Home" sold fast with apperances on BBC Radio Nottingham, Derby, Leicester, and Lincon, and there's now only 10 copies left! (so if you havn't already got a copy now's the time.)

Simon uses Taylor guitars and Martin Strings

("Umbrella" sync thing put together by the very talented Sam Devonport)

Influences: John Mayer, The Smashing Pumpkins, Tool, A perfect Circle, Damien Rice, Rage against the machine, Feeder, Bush, Weezer, Willy Mason, Ben Kweller, The Bluetones, Leni Ward, Iron and Wine, and all of my amazing freinds who inspire me everyday.
Sounds Like: The poetry and raw emotion of Damien Rice with the guitar playing and catchy hooks of John Mayer.
