Derby metallers NG26 play metal. No they don't play any variation of it, they're not metalcore, they don't play Death Metal, they're not a power metal band nor a prog metal band. They're just a metal band, you know the kind of band that Rob Halford would mean when he says Judas Priest play Heavy Metal. That's exactly what NG26 do. It sounds so... wrong. Unusual is certainly one word to describe it.In an age when metal has fractured and schismed into any number of sub genres (and in some case sub-sub genres!), these boys just pick things up and churn out some disgustingly brutal heavy metal. The guitars are huge, heavy and loud, the drums kick like they should, it's great. In lots of ways it reminds me of everything that I've come to be disappointed in with metal today, so it's awesome to hear a band like this, and their debut to boot. There's not a growl in sight, you can understand every single god damn word, the guitars sing in the way only metal makes them.Yes I like this, and as an album it's superb, as a debut it's unreal. With 'Break Away' NG26 are perhaps taking the first steps in driving metal back to it's roots. It's the beauty of Megadeth and Judas Priest all over again, but it's new, and sounds like it is. This album doesn't contain a bad track. One band that you simply must keep an eye on....."komodorock.com".."'Break Away' is one hell of a debut album, from one hell of a set of musicians! I might even go so far as to say this is just what modern metal needs right now." - Bubblegum Sluts Magazine
"Heavy Rock with a metal edge in a groove driven yet melodic intimacy." - cdbaby.com

For our overseas friends, you can order 'Break Away' on CD Baby at http://cdbaby.com/cd/ng26 or by clicking the link here . 2 sets of brothers formed in 1998 as a covers band and have developed their sound into what has become one of the most original on the UK music scene. The band has toured the UK extensively and continue to go from strength to strength, growing musically further and further and stretching the boundaries of hard rock. The brothers are known for their intense live shows and dedication to playing, performing over 50 gigs in 2006 alone. The fanbase constantly increases with every performance, with fans coming back time and time again- a true testament to a great live band. NG26 have gigged with many great unsigned acts and tribute bands, and have been on tour with established acts Tygers of Pan Tang, Cyclefly, Pro-jekt, Malpractice and Kill2This. After many years of die-hard live performances and the constant evolution of their superb and awe-inspiring songwriting, NG26 entered Parr Street studios in Liverpool (where Marillion, Genesis and Coldplay have created hit albums) to record their 3 track demo, receiving glowing praise by music press and fans alike. The band entered Hive Studios in Derby mid February 2006 to begin the recording sessions for their highly awaited debut album, 'Break Away'. The album was released on October 31st 2006, and is currently available at all NG26 shows, to order on the official NG26 myspace page, and selected HMV and independent stores in England and Scotland.

"What we have here are very well delivered, well played and arranged tracks that sound somewhere between early Metallica and later Killing Joke (not a bad combination, huh?). The sheer volume of power that this band produce for a four piece outfit is purely outstanding which is a great reflection on just how well this band can play. Live, this band is faultless!" -Mark Sesin, Insomnia Magazine
