The Park Bench started on a cold February morning 2005 when Lloyd , asleep on a park bench was awakened by the sound of winter and a nylon acoustic guitar. He met up with guitarist Dale in a room at the YMCA where they started to record and write songs. Meanwhile, an escaped lunatic from Birmingham mental asylum known only as Matt Blackwell befriended the Park Bench and joined them as bass player. To hide from Police, he changed his identity to Uncle Sniper and has not been traced since. The Park Bench first gig came as a surprise to a local church. They went down a storm as an enthusiastic choirboy named Luke Hamilton pulled out his drumkit and joined the band immediately. At their latest press conference, the band said this..."Thanks to all you legends who come to our massive concerts, the Rhyder-Cheshire Volunteers, Tom Gourlay for his massive contribution to the band. Challenge Luke at Chess and have a Prat for Christmas. Dale the Snail. Thanks to Lloydus the chip of the Old block. Matt and Luke. Catch you on the Flipside. You crazy cats.
